The recent national inservice for youth, children And family workers was a tremendous source of inspiration for all involved. A highlight for me personally was the biblical input of the key note speaker, Steve Taylor. It challenged my thinking about how we engage the Bible and families. Another highlight was the excitement and energy of the students from QLD. It was great to see them out in force and soaking up the whole experience

Kara Powell (pictured below)  from the Fuller Youth Institute posted an interesting article about the kind of influence  we can have as youth leaders  and why it is such an important job when it is positive and why it is dangerous when it is negative.It will make you think!

It is with both sadness and joy that we share with you the news that Paul Yarrow, our Children and Families Coordinator, is resigning to take up a position as Chaplain at Clayfield College. Paul has been with the Youth and Children’s Ministry Unit since 1998 and has served in a variety of capacities in that time. Over the last 5 years Paul’s time has been split between Wellers Hill Tarragindi Uniting Church, South Moreton Presbytery and children and family ministry. Paul brought a passion and energy to all things children and family related and was always available to share his wisdom with the rest of the team. His contribution to the Synod and the whole church nationally will be missed greatly. Paul you have blessed us all and we thankyou. Paul will conclude his time at YACMU towards the end of July. Look out for a couple of opportunities to come and say goodbye to Paul over the coming weeks.
